Let-R-Rip: Thanksgiving Edition.

Launching frozen chickens for charity? Sounds like a good time to us!

Every week, we have a contest where we launch an item with our giant slingshot and you guess how far it flew. For this week’s launch, we tied in the Thanksgiving season by launching “mini Turkeys” or Cornish hens. In keeping with the theme of the season, we also welcomed a special guest to be part of our launch: Francie Cooper, the Community Events Coordinator for the Tarrant Area Food Bank. To make this launch even better, we upped the ante. For every foot the frozen birds “flew”, we would donate $1 to the Food Bank!

The office and Francie headed out to the empty parking lot to get the launch underway. We set up the cones and it was time to launch. Even Francie took a shot! The mini turkeys flew further than any other item we have launched. Once we had launched all three, we went to count the number of feet the furthest one flew. 320 feet was the final number! We donated $320.00 to which Francie exclaimed, “That equals 1,600 meals for the Food Bank!”

We were glad to partner with the Tarrant Area Food Bank and help provide meals for families. Check out the video of the launch above and tell us what you think!
