Ilfusion Gets A Glass!

ilfusion gets a Google glass July 12, 2013 | By Ilfusion Team

“Okay Glass”

Two words that never got old in the initial 48 hours after Account Manager, Lindsey went on an exciting journey to the Big Apple to pick up the Google Glass.

Months ago, Google had a promotion that gave the public the opportunity to tweet or post on Google+ what they would do with the Glass. So, Lindsey thought to herself, “what the heck, why not try for it?” So this was her tweet:

#IfIHadGlass I’d use it to see my dreams come to life. Then share it with others!

Then came the fun. Lindsey received her DM from @ProjectGlass and was able to log in and learn about how to secure a piece of technological history. Deciding where to pick up her glass was easy. New York would be the perfect place. Choosing the color was the hard part. Since she feels the sky’s the limit, she chose Sky Blue as the color.

Google Glass headquarters is located at the Chelsea Market in the bustling Chelsea neighborhood. When Lindsey arrived at the Google offices she was greeted by high tech security guards and a team of Googlers ready to be her guides. The Google offices were just what you’d expect. Simple, modern and hip. Everyone was sporting a Glass and there was no shortage of Shiner (they knew how to make a Texan feel at home).

Adam, Lindsey’s personal guide walked her through the setup process, showed her all the fun features of the Glass, and gave her some pointers for future use. She recalls it being so much like Christmas morning that she actually forgot many of the things he discussed. She did readily pick up the photo and video features, which are by far her favorite!

After the tour, Lindsey took the Glass for a spin around the city taking photos and video of all the cool things she could see. She was pointed at, made fun of and asked a few questions regarding the odd device on her face. It is definitely a conversation starter!

Although the Glass has many neat features, Lindsey is still skeptical. She loved how handy it was for taking superb photos and video, however the other features, and its integration with social still leave much to be desired. It took some practice and a lot of diction to send an email, and to hear it, she had to plug her ears. Unfortunately, not all of the features are available for iPhone yet, and as a Mac fanatic this was frustrating. However, they should be released sometime before the first public sale of the Glass. Lindsey and the rest of the Ilfusion team is excited to see what comes of Glass and even more excited to be the first to try out the new features as they are released.

Have any of you had the opportunity to try the Glass? What are your thoughts about this new age technology?

Ilfusion is excited to start sharing agency life through Glass. Look for upcoming photos and videos and read thoughts on Glass’ features in blogs, on Facebook and Twitter!
