How to Promote Your Business Blog Content to Boost SEO Ranking

Learn more on how to do effective business blog content marketing

Writing high-quality and unique content is key in boosting your SEO ranking, but your SEO marketing efforts shouldn’t stop there. Your blog content wasn’t created to just sit in the corner for the sake of posting; it should be out and about and read by the general public. This is why content curation is always paired with content marketing.

Content marketing is often overlooked by many business blog owners and digital marketers, but it’s never too late to start promoting your blog or web content. Here are three ways you can jumpstart your content marketing for your business blog content and how these can help you boost your SEO ranking.

1. Share on social media

Social media has proven to be a very powerful marketing and networking tool. Sharing your blog posts on your company’s social media channels is a great way to start promoting your content. With over two billion users on Facebook alone, there are plenty of opportunities for your content to be seen. You can also use Facebook’s short-term paid campaign tools to boost your individual posts and extend your advertising reach outside of your immediate network.

It’s also a smart idea to not limit yourself to just one social media platform like Facebook; promote your content on a variety of social media networks, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.

Posting on social media does not only increase the visibility of your blog content; it also increases the likelihood of your post being shared across the network and getting backlinks to your business blog. This, in turn, boosts your social authority which is one of the key ranking signals.

2. Use content snippets when promoting your content on social media

When you’ve posted your blog content on social media, it’s recommended to post it not just once but multiple times. When doing so, use snippets from your blog content as post descriptions. Snippets can be variations of the blog post title, short statements or quotes from the content, or a summary of the content. It’s best practice to pull out at least five snippets from your blog content.

Share these snippets, together with a link to your blog post, and share on social media over the next several weeks. Snippets make each one of your posts different from one another and, hence, won’t be seen as spamming. You can also do this to some of your previous blog posts that are already popular — you can reshare them in social media together with a snippet of the content and tag them as an ICYMI (in case you missed it) post.

Posting your content several times on social media is a good way to get more likes and shares. More social media engagement means that your post keeps appearing in newsfeeds, and that your content stays relevant for a longer period of time. Content relevancy and social media engagement are two known ranking signals that could help you with your SEO efforts.

3. Do guest posting and connect with social influencers

Guest posting is a good way to mine referral traffic to your blog post. The key here is to connect with relevant websites and social influencers who cater to the same niche as your blog content. Offer to provide content and have them post it in their site, in exchange for an author box linking to your site or author portfolio. You can also ask social influencers to share your content on their social media networks for extended reach.

With guest posting and connecting with social influencers, you’re hitting two birds with one stone: you get to have more visibility to your blog content and at the same time increase your network. This is also a good way to diversify your traffic other than just relying on organic traffic from Google. Referral traffic increases the chances of getting inbound links from authoritative domains and stir social media activity, both of which are positive SEO search ranking signals.

Your content writing efforts would basically be for naught if your content isn’t promoted effectively. If you want more information on content marketing and SEO, or for Ilfusion to help you with your marketing efforts, give us a call at 888-420-5115, or send us an email [email protected].
