The Perfect Internship for Me

This was my last semester as a college student, and I wanted to make sure I picked the perfect internship to end my college career. Looking back, I am so happy that I made the decision to intern with Ilfusion Creative. I could not have asked for a better work environment to learn and grow from in my last 5 months while attending Texas Christian University. Not only did I increase my knowledge of the social media and public relations industry, I met people who taught me valuable lessons in the workforce that I will carry with me throughout my career.

The staff at Ilfusion is energetic, passionate, detail oriented and most of all, fun! They made me feel comfortable from my very first day and allowed me to show my skills through social media posts, blog writing, research and much more. This talented group of individuals impressed me with their striking client list compiled in a fast paced, growing industry. Their clients were great to work with and I enjoyed interacting with both local companies as well as national companies. The versatility of their client base helps Ilfusion stand out in this competitive industry.

What I liked most about this internship is the fact that I did not just sit back and do busy work. I was completely involved in their team, goal setting and brainstorming for each client. I was responsible for developing brands through social media by working directly with our designated social media strategists. I improved my knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and LinkedIn. They believed in my ability to write and I really grew and learned by being so involved with their agency. Sitting in on the weekly department meetings and getting insight on new ideas to increase engagement was extremely interesting and I garnered a great deal of information from them.

The social media industry is fast moving and exciting. I definitely love working in an environment where the platforms are always changing and developing. New applications, websites and social media platforms are being established constantly, so working in this industry is anything but boring. Technology is constantly being updated, refined and improved at higher speeds for a more convenient product. Being involved in this on a day-to-day basis and having the ability to communicate directly with clients was a really great experience for me.

This internship has helped me build my network and improve my understanding of working in the advertising and marketing industry. It exceeded my expectations and I am very happy with how much I learned and grew from working at Ilfusion. I would recommend this internship to college students who want to learn more about advertising, marketing, public relations and social media. I learned so much in these last five months to prepare me for the real world. I am graduating this month and am excited about what the future has in store for me. I know that my positive experience at Ilfusion has prepared me for whatever the industry throws my way!
