Top 5 Facebook Marketing Features to Use This 2019

One of the many reasons why Facebook remains an indispensable tool for marketers is that it constantly adapts and responds to the needs of its users. This year, Facebook has introduced a number of new and updated features that are specially designed for business pages.

With the myriad of business marketing tools available on Facebook, it may be hard to utilize each and every one of them for your business page. To help you narrow down your focus, here are the top five Facebook marketing features you should look into this 2019:

1. Facebook Stories Ads

Ephemeral content has been exploding in popularity in recent years, and platforms like Facebook and Instagram are taking cues from SnapChat by introducing Stories. In a nutshell, Facebook Stories allow users to share photos and videos for 24 hours—after which, you can choose to keep your Stories in your Archive or highlight them on your profile.

For marketers, Facebook Stories present a new way for brands to communicate and engage authentically with their audiences. What’s more is that Facebook has also added a Facebook Stories Ads feature that allows you to add music, link a web page, create polls, add fun stickers and filters, and even launch interactive augmented reality (AR) ads right from Stories.

2. Messenger 4

The age of dark social has come—consumers are accessing website referrals through more private platforms, such as emails and private chats, making it more difficult for marketers to track and gauge. However, Facebook is adapting to this new trend in ways that do not hamper a marketer’s reach to their audiences. With Facebook’s revamped Messenger 4 app, both users and marketers can enjoy the organized new look for a more comprehensive experience.

Two new tabs are added in addition to the classic Chats tab: the People tab, where you can find active friends, and the Discover tab, where you can connect and discover relevant business pages. For marketers, getting your Messenger bot to the Discover tab is a new and innovative way to reach your audience. All you need to do is submit your bot to Facebook.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to submit your Messenger bot to Facebook and how to boost visibility on the Discover tab.

3. Facebook Marketplace

Facebook has also integrated eCommerce capabilities to its platform by introducing Facebook Marketplace. This is especially useful for local and startup businesses to gain more traction within their area.

What’s more is that listing your products on Facebook Marketplace is free. All you need to do is add photos of your product, specify the price and your location, and add a compelling product description. Customer inquiries are also organized within the messaging section of Marketplace, where product updates, such as change in pricing or if a product has already been sold, are also pushed directly to the inbox of customers.

4. Facebook Watch

Videos are increasingly becoming the most popular form of marketing content, and Facebook is putting videos front and center to its platform by introducing Facebook Watch. Reminiscent of YouTube and Netflix, Facebook Watch allows users and marketers to upload live or pre-recorded videos where other users can discover video content all in one place. For marketers, this creates an opportunity for you to create a series of video episodes to promote your business, and prompt users to subscribe to your channel.

Facebook Watch also has a Watch Party feature that provides Facebook Groups a new way to watch videos together and interact with one another. Facebook is also working on bringing Watch Parties to Facebook business pages as well. To start a Watch Party from your business page, see Facebook’s guide here.

5. Video Creation Kit

For businesses on a budget, investing in video equipment can be quite challenging, and more so if you do not have the professional skills to create excellent videos. Facebook, however, has made it easier for marketers to create marketing videos with its Video Creation Kit.

The Video Creation Kit allows you to turn your existing photos into mobile-optimized video ads ranging from 6 to 15 seconds in length. All you need to do is choose at least 2 photos and a video template. There are several templates currently available, including promoting a product, driving product discovery, showcasing product benefits, and spotlighting an image.

To start creating a video ad using a template, view Facebook’s guide here.
