Twitter Making a Change

October 2, 2012 | By Ilfusion Team

Is your brand on Twitter? If not, now is the time. One of the most popular social media platforms is now keeping in step with Facebook and Google+. While nobody likes change, these new features will have a positive impact on your Twitter experience, especially if you are a business:

1. Header Photo

As if we needed more outlets of expression, here is another. Upload a photo from your phone straight to the app, just like a cover photo on Facebook and Google+. This could be a great tool for a brand or business to utilize. Upload a photo of your business, product, or related graphic to further personalize your page.

2. Photo Stream

Now you don’t have to hunt down your friends’ photos on the Twitter mobile app. The update brought a new photo stream that is visible on anyone’s homepage. Brands can now feel free to upload photos and they will not be lost. With the ability to swipe through the photos on the iPhone, Android, or iPad, you can now easily see what your friends are posting.

3. Pinned Tweet

Keep your important news in the forefront. You can now “pin” your tweet to the top of your stream to keep it in front of your followers. When you post a new tweet it will appear under the pinned tweet, so it will always stay at the top. This tool will be incredibly beneficial to brands as they can keep important tweets about events, awards, promotions, anything, positioned at the top of the page for the ultimate viewership.

4. App Updates

Twitter has also created a better iPad app for a more streamlined look in keeping up with the iPhone apps. The photos look better, the interacting is better, and the tailored information is better. With the ability to expand tweets and photos, and see full conversations, the new iPad app is much easier to use and more efficient.

So, what do you think of the new Twitter updates? For businesses at least, these new functions will allow brands to stand out a little more and better utilize tweets to their advantage.
